Courses & Eligibility

Engineering courses are available in four popular formats- diploma, degree, postgraduate and doctoral.
The diploma course can be of 1 year, 2 years or 3 years. Diploma holders can be eligible for lateral entry to the third semester of engineering courses. Diploma in Engineering is offered in various disciplines. The course can be joined after 10th.

When it comes to a valuable program for engineering, the 4-year undergraduate program or B.Tech is the most valuable one. The program offers various types of specializations like chemical, civil, electronic, electric and computer. Candidates of the program have to attend regular classes because the program comprises industrial training, theoretical as well as practical knowledge. Prerequisites of the course are 10+2 in science where math is the main subject.

The post graduation in engineering is one of the most respected programs that is pursued after completion of B.Tech. The program awards students with a Master of Engineering or Master of Technology degree. It is a 2-year long program.

Doctoral of Philosophy in Engineering (Ph.D) is an advanced research course in engineering which duration is 3 years. However, the course duration varies from college to college. Eligible candidates of the program is those who have qualified Master in Engineering.

Admission to an Engineering College

Getting admission to an engineering course is tricky. There are many engineering colleges offering admission after analyzing the 12th score and all India score in Joint Entrance Examination or JEE.
