Work Capacity Coming back

by Casey Miller on 05-31-2014 at 09:09 PM
This week was about trying to get four sessions in and head back in the direction of the work capacity I had before my essentially two month layoff. Good progress from last week in this regard and estimated total was +27 for the week. It took two months to lose a whole bunch of strength, it will take that long to gain it back. I hope it goes just a little quicker than this as I have a birthday in six weeks and would really like to be back to setting PRs by then.

Out of Shape

by Casey Miller on 05-24-2014 at 09:13 PM
So I have not logged for a couple months. It is a long story. Some medical issues arose for me and my wife that had to be dealt with. Most weeks I have done hardly anything, especially neglecting anything resembling a heavy squat or deadlift. I detrain quickly and have lost a bunch of weight---and of course strength. This week was the first week with four training sessions, although still not much work was done. Hopefully something to build on.

Week 66: Meet Week

by Casey Miller on 03-22-2014 at 07:50 PM
Battle on the Border Meet, Denver, NC
22 March 2014

Prep went optimally over the last five months. I had several weeks of my greatest estimated 1RM total weeks of all time this cycle. I had no injuries. Weight was okay, but I cut a bit of water anyway just to be sure and weighed in at 216.9. I felt like I was in good position to set PRs across the board and had a shot at a couple state records if things went very well.

Squat: warm ups felt fine to 315. Planned
