    The Scope / Rifle Analogy

    This is another analogy that gets referenced quite a bit, so I thought I'd make it a separate post:

    I often use the analogy of a scope on a rifle. The “rifle” is your base system and the “scope” is RTS. The scope doesn’t make the rifle any more powerful, but it just allows you to employ it better. You can use a linear periodization "rifle". You can use a block periodization "rifle". You can use a "rifle" designed for shotputters... whatever you want. RTS is a modification that gets put with it to allow you to employ it more effectively.
